In 1990, Canon became one of the first companies to collect and recycle used copier toner cartridges. With the cooperation of our customers, Canon has collected more than 110,000 tons around the world.
Returned cartridges are sorted and put through the recycling and energy recovery process, producing plastics, metals and reconditioned parts that can be used in the manufacture of new cartridges and other products.

Since 1993, Canon has updated thousands of copiers with the most current parts to ensure that Canon quality is maintained. Every product is guaranteed to look and perform like new. Remanufacturing extends the life of the product. Canon U.S.A. copiers designated "Factory Produced New Models" have been disassembled to a predetermined standard by the original equipment manufacturer and manufactured to a New Model status with a new serial number.
